Ashley is a rock star and I loved taking her Arkansas bridal portraits at Magnolia Gardens. This was my first time to the location, so I enjoyed going around and trying to find all the good spots. It was also helpful because this was where the wedding would be as well, so I had a chance to scout things out in advance.
Ashley’s Arkansas Bridal Portraits at Magnolia Gardens
Magnolia Gardens is an interesting mixture of nature and structures. We started by this archway that was covered in greenery. I know there’s a name for it, but I just can’t seem to think of it right now. I put Ashley on the other side of it and then shot through it, creating an arch around her. We then shot some photos of her inside. From there, we moved to this giant tree that had a swing and this long, low hanging branch. I had Ashley stand next to it, and I was able to shoot from several angles to get the front and back of her dress. I then climbed onto the branch for a nice high portrait. Our next stop was the ceremony location. We didn’t do anything really crazy there. We brought in the veil and did some more traditional bridal portraits, and then moved to the next spot. This time we were on the backside of the property and there are these long steps that lead down. This was a no brainer. Then, I just moved her to the hill beside the steps. Just that small little move and things looked completely different. In that same area we also a bridge and a pond. For the final shots, we went back to the front and used the giant barn as a backdrop.
I know I didn’t go into a ton of detail about each place, but that’s because Magnolia Gardens has some many different spots. If I had really gone into detail, this blog would probably be three pages long. Anyway, I loved the photos, and I really hope to get to take more Arkansas bridal portraits at Magnolia Gardens in the future. In a few days, I’ll also show off Ashley’s wedding day.
