Life has been crazy lately. In June I had 6 weddings and a bunch of other shoots. Recently, I have been doing a ton of bridal sessions. These have mainly been for myself because I wanted to shoot in a new location or experiment with something. When I first decided to do this, the must-have location that popped into my head was Willow Brooke Farm. I did a video for the first-ever wedding there, but I hadn’t had a chance to shoot photos. I was so excited to get to do bridals at Willow Brooke Farm with Bethany.
Bridals at Willow Brooke Farm
Bethany’s wedding was in August, so she was really excited about getting into her dress and doing photos. That’s one of the great things about doing bridals. It’s a chance for the bride to get into her dress an extra time and try things out before the big day.
One thing that really sticks out about Willow Brooke Farm is the barn. There are so many barns around here, but this one is so different. It’s black on the outside, which sounds weird when you say it, but it looks really nice. Inside, it’s the opposite. Everything is white and very open and bright. We mainly focused on the big open reception area of the barn, but the bridal suite is beautiful and unique as well. The inside has these chandeliers hanging down, so I knew I wanted to use those. I ended up having Bethany stand in front of them and I played around with some lighting and the sliding doors.
After that, we played around on all the amazing land they have. We did a few things on the porch and steps. Then, we moved around to different fields. It’s crazy how many different looks we could get around there. For one, we had the pond in the background. Then, we were able to get a wide-open look in another spot, and the last spot was a hill with a great view of the sky.
A big thanks to Rose of Sharon for the beautiful bouquet! They do amazing work and are just the easiest people to work with. Check them out!
This bridal session at Willow Brooke Farm was a giant batch of fun. Bethany and her family were so helpful and fun to be around. Then, we had a venue that was full of options and so beautiful! This is exactly what I wanted to do these bridal sessions! It’s been a great experience, and I have several more coming up in the near future!
