Over the past 7 years or so, I’ve done plenty of weddings at St. Catherine’s at Bell Gable. It’s a great wedding venue with great people, and it’s just beautiful. Interesting enough, it seems a lot of those weddings are people that are looking for something smaller, not crazy, but they really want something pretty. As I mentioned before, I’m now offering elopement packages, and I imagine I’ll be doing a lot of them at St. Catherine’s. Today on the blog we have an elopement wedding at St. Catherine’s at Bell Gable!
Elopement Wedding at St. Catherine’s at Bell Gable: Amanda and Bracken
Elopement weddings tend to be short and sweet. That’s exactly what this was. I believe I was there for maybe two hours, but we still got a lot done. I couldn’t do all the things I normally do, but I was able to get her getting ready and a picture of the dress. We still did our normal portraits and all of that, and even a garter toss and toasts. There wasn’t really a reception, so that was about it.
Amanda and Bracken are both super nice people, so I was happy to be a part of their big day. One thing that sticks out is how emotional Bracken was when he first saw her. He didn’t break down, but there were tears, and I could see real happiness in his expression. Some people hide it, but he couldn’t.
An elopement wedding is quite different than what I am use to. I’m use to getting to know people through engagement photos and then spending a long time with them on the wedding day. Amanda and Bracken’s Elopement Wedding at St. Catherine’s at Bell Gable wasn’t like that, but still, I felt very connected to them and part of it. It was lovely experience, and I hope to have more elopements in the future.
