Engagement Photos at Compton Gardens: Courtney and Stephen

It’s hard for me to really say what my favorite thing to photograph is, but engagement sessions are way up there. As I’ve mentioned several times, this is where I really get to know the couple, and there isn’t the stress of the wedding day. It’s basically a time for us to just hang out and have fun, and I take photos as we go. Courtney and Stephen did their engagement photos at Compton Gardens in Bentonville, and I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did.

Courtney and Stephen both have great personalities, which is always a plus for me. I enjoy all of my couples but there is just something interesting about them. Stephen is laid back but also has this happy vibe to him. I could see myself just sitting around with him and having a good chat about random things.

There are several fun spots around Compton Gardens for engagement photos. I usually just start walking and stop when I see something interesting. There were several other photographers out doing their thing, so we had to wait and avoid people a few times, but that really wasn’t a big deal. One shot that I thought was interesting was pretty far away. Courtney and Stephen walked up this path, and I was shooting them over the pond. Then, Stephen got down on his knee like he was proposing. I was a little confused, but apparently she didn’t get a good shot of the proposal, so they were reenacting it. We also messed around under a bridge, sat on some cool rocks, and pretended to walk off into the distance.

Courtney and Stephen still have several months until their big day, but I’m really looking forward to it. The reception is going to be at The Grand at 117, so that’s always fun, and I’m sure these two will keep me entertained. For now, check out their engagement photos at Compton Gardens, and I’ll be back with their wedding photos in September.
