I wouldn’t really describe myself as a Eureka Springs wedding photographer, but I have done several weddings there, and it’s always a blast. Alexis and Erich’s wedding was another situation where I got to travel to the lovely town of Eureka Springs for a wedding. We did photos and video that day, but for today, we’re just going to be looking at the photo side of the big day.
Eureka Springs Wedding Photographer: Erich and Alexis
For our getting ready location, we got to hang out in this cool little cottage that Alexis and her family had rented. It was close to downtown Eureka Springs, so I’m sure they really enjoyed their stay. There wasn’t a ton of room inside the cottage for detail shots, so we managed by moving everything outdoors. The sun was blasting us, so we used an umbrella to block it for our dress shots. Right outside the cottage was a rock wall and some trees. We did the rest of our detail shots right there.
We met up with Erich at the famous Crescent Hotel to do the first look and some portraits. Beside the hotel there is a cute little area with a fountain. We hid Alexis back behind the building and put Erich out there. She then snuck up on him. Right after the first look, we shot some portraits of each of them and then together.
The ceremony was at Thorncrown Chapel, which is just lovely. The chapel is nestled back in the woods, so you’ve got trees on both sides. The chapel is a wonder in itself. It’s a glass chapel, so the light coming in is great. Erich and Alexis are both from out of state, so there wasn’t a ton of people at the ceremony, but it was a nice intimate setting. Both parents walked Alexis down, which was different, but a nice change.
After the ceremony, we used the lovely setting for some family and friends photos, and then knocked out some really nice photos of the couple.
That really was about it. The last part of the night was just a dinner at this nice, local restaurant. Erich was such a nice guy, he even bought us dinner, so we just got to hang out. This wedding was such a laid back, pleasant environment. It really makes me want to get up and move and really become a Eureka Springs wedding photographer. Check back soon for their wedding videos as well.
