Lake Atlanta Engagement Photos: Haylee and Rhett

It’s that time of year again. The sun is out and the weather is nice, which means I’m extremely busy. I didn’t have a free Saturday in the month of April, but that’s a good thing! I also got the pleasure of shooting plenty of engagement shoots. One of those was Haylee and Rhett’s Lake Atlanta Engagement photos. It was a little cold and windy still, but that didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time.

There were a few different locations we thought about for this session, but we ended up using Lake Atlanta. It had been over a year since I had been there, and things have changed quite a bit. Before there wasn’t much going on. Basically they had been renovating when I was there, so most of it wasn’t finished. This time it looked much nicer and there were some many great options. They built this wood structure, slides, and lots of trails and bridges. We spent maybe an hour and a half there walking around from place to place, and we still didn’t see all of it. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future to do more shoots.

I initially met Haylee back in January at a bridal show. We talked for a good time and I was excited about the chance to work with her. She’s getting married in December, which is always a pleasure because it’s usually when I don’t have much work, and it’s at an amazing venue: Matt Lane Farm.

Haylee and Rhett are pretty amazing. They are both former college athletes. Haylee was a softball pitcher and Rhett played football. Sports is one of my favorite things, so I always love talking with other sports people. As we were moving from one spot to the next, we talked about that kind of stuff. Rhett’s not as much of a Razorback fan as I am, but we won’t hold that against him.

We created some interesting images. My favorite was probably with the tunnel. I used a flash to backlight them and created a fun little silhouette. There was also a time they were sitting on rock by some water. They moved a bit and Rhett almost fell backwards into the water. I laughed a bit, but I’m really glad he didn’t get wet.

Check out their Lake Atlanta engagement photos! I really loved they way they turned out, and I’m excited to work with them in December. It will be a nice little Christmas present for all of us.
