I love engagement sessions. I love meeting new people, figuring out they are, and what they enjoy. I was around Matt at his Angel’s wedding, but we never really got to talk. I got the chance to talk to both Matt and Ashley, and I think their Fayetteville engagement photos really say a lot about their relationship and who they are.
Matt and Ashley’s Fayetteville Engagement Photos: U of A
Our day started on the University of Arkansas campus. It had special meaning to the two of them, so we went to several different places on campus. First, we did the Old Main steps, which is pretty traditional. Then, we played around in nature with some trees. Our last stop at the U of A was the Greek Theatre. Ashley and Matt wanted to work on their spins and dancing, and Ashley’s dress was perfect for it. I messed around with some special lighting and different techniques and trekked a good distance away to really get a wide shot.
Matt and Ashley’s Fayetteville Engagement Photos: Dickson Street
After talking with Matt and Ashley, I learned that they both love music. To fit in with their love, we made a quick stop to Dickson Street. We really only shot in one area while there, George’s Majestic Lounge. The couple did some fun poses out in front with the big sign in the background.
Matt and Ashley’s Fayetteville Engagement Photos: Wilson Park
The final leg of our journey led us to Wilson Park. We rounded up their two dogs for a few group shots and even one of all their hands and paws together. While in Wilson Park, we snuck down to the creek. It’s always a bit scary for me to be around water with my equipment, but once again, I avoided any major catastrophes. Matt and Ashley threw on some Dallas jerseys for this whole session because their family lose the Dallas Cowboys.
After their Fayetteville engagement photos, I really feel like I know Ashley and Matt more. It’s interesting that just spending a few hours with someone can do that. I’ll be shooting Ashley’s bridal photos soon, and we’re hoping to make them fit her personality as well. It should be a blast, and I can’t wait till their wedding in October.
