Today I was meeting with one of my brides, and one of the things I love doing is helping them out with planning and finding vendors. Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming, so if there’s anything I can do to help, I try to. Well, today my brain was destroyed because I was out till midnight the night before for a concert. I was trying to think of different vendors but my brain just wasn’t up to the task. Later when I got home, I was able to look up the vendors and pass them along to her. Then, later, in a wedding group, I saw someone had posted a document where all the vendors could list their info. Both of these situations got me thinking. I need to put together a preferred wedding vendor list for brides, so I can help them out quicker and easier.
Preferred Wedding Vendor List for Brides
The first thing I’m trying to figure out is the format for this wedding vendor list. Yes, I’m calling it a list, but is that really what I want? Is just a list enough information or should I write a description that explains what’s special about each vendor?
The list would be small and easy to do and make things very clear and simple, but then the bride would be left to go search each vendor, write her own notes, and get their contact information. With a longer format, I could put all of that information there for them, so they could have it all in one spot and not have to do as much work. The problem, though, is that would take up several pages and might be overwhelming.
When I pick a format, that will affect the way I deliver this vendor list to the brides. Right now, I have several pages on my website dedicated to Northwest Arkansas wedding venues. There are photos and descriptions for each venue. I like the way I have this setup, but I don’t think this would be a good idea for the entire list. That would be too many pages and require a lot of clicking back and forth between pages.
If I do go with the simplified list, I could put all of that onto one page on my site easily or I could create a PDF to put on the site or email or even print. If I decide to go with the longer format, I will most likely create a nice multipage brochure/handout or a fancy PDF with links and images.
Which Wedding Vendors to Include
Weddings are super important and I believe highly in hiring professionals for your weddings. Not only do they make your life easier, they also make life easier for all the other vendors. With that said, I’ll only be putting vendors on this list that I’ve worked with, know, and trust. I wouldn’t recommend someone unless I’d be willing to hire them for my own daughter’s wedding.
With that said, I’d also love some input from all of you for my Preferred Wedding Vendor List for Brides. If you’ve had a great experience with a wedding vendor, please let me know and give me details. Please try to keep it positive in the comments. If you had a bad experience, feel free to message me, but I don’t want anyone getting blasted publicly. I really appreciate any help with this, and in the end, I hope to create something to help brides have a wonderful wedding!
