As a wedding photographer, I get to see all different types of weddings with all types of people. Usually the weddings I shoot are a pretty big event with lots of details and lots of people but not always. Maybe once a year I will shoot something much more intimate. This year, I was lucky to get to shoot Rick and Sydney’s Fayetteville wedding.
Rick and Sydney’s Fayetteville Wedding
I honestly don’t remember how Rick found me, but he called me up on the phone to ask about wedding coverage. He told me that both of them were older and this was their second marriages, so it wasn’t going to be something grand. He said he was wanting to do some posed photos before the ceremony and then just have me do video during the ceremony. This was a little different than what I’ve ever done. Most people are more interested in capturing the ceremony photos live as it is happening, but he didn’t really care about that. He also didn’t care about details or family shots. In the end, I probably shot about 50 photos. The video ended up being the more involved item.
Rick and Sydney are both very sweet and interesting people. I got to know Rick more because he was the one I was communicating with before and during. Turns out Rick is a photographer himself and he had been doing it for a long time. He also use to be in the military, so he was sporting it during the ceremony.
Overall I was probably at Rick and Sydney’s Fayetteville Wedding for maybe 2 hours. It wasn’t a long time, but it did make an impact on me. It’s great to see two people be able to bounce back and find love at their age. It’s also nice to just meet new interesting people. No matter the size of the wedding, I always enjoy it!
