Paul and Amy’s Wedding

It seems like I can’t go 3 or 4 months without forgetting to write about someone’s wedding. It’s not something I do on purpose. I have so much going on that sometimes I just forget or I think I already did it. Well, today I was going through some photos from other Sassafras Springs Vineyard weddings, and I couldn’t find Amy and Paul’s wedding. I searched and searched, but nothing came up. It’s been a good 8 months since their wedding, but it’s never too late to share a wedding!

Sassafras Springs Vineyard Wedding: Paul and Amy

Paul and Amy got married on a Friday at Sassafras Springs and it was warm, but a really nice day. We had a first look out in the field in front of the vineyard. I think it was around that point that I realized I actually knew someone there. One of Paul’s three boys was in my class at Woodland several years ago. What a small world!

Their ceremony was outside at the stone chapel. There were several interesting things. There was some singing and guitar by one of their friends, and their son played his trumpet as they exited. I always love it when people get their friends and family involved. It was also during the ceremony that I saw more people I knew! A classmate of my son was there with his mother and siblings.

Right after the ceremony, I got a chance to get some photos of just the two of them. My favorites were using the chapel doors. It’s such a nice structure. It dark enough at that point that I removed most of the natural light and created a silhouette by putting a flash behind them. This was one of my favorite shots of the day.

The rest of the night was interesting as well. We had some great dancing and some emotional moments like the father/daughter dance. It was just really nice seeing so many people that were there and happy for these two.

The night ended with a sparkler exit. The kids were out and about playing with them before the actual exit, but the parents managed to get them in place for the real deal. Paul and Amy did a nice little stroll out and he dipped her in the middle of it all.

I was super shocked to see that I hadn’t written about this fun day. There was so much happiness, unique moments, and people that I knew. Anyway, I might be a little late, but enjoy this wonderful wedding!
